A great has been going on even with Fashion Week ending. That was a great experience with lots of beautiful designs and showcases on display. I got to meet many people in our community and we exchanged ideas.
Also I did managed to show off some of my work during the events and got positive responses.
Anyway we next have Ikkicon to prepare for. We plan on putting another runway at this convention and it will include a lot more contemporary fashion. We will be part a series of designers and costumer makers. I also have a couple projects in the works, that if pan out should prove to be something special.
Anyway highlights below from our Fashion Week escapades
Lindsay modeling the cocktail dress I conjured for her
Posing with Catherine Nicole, Jewelry Designer and my Mash-up teammate
Frank modeling 1 of my "Cowboy" Shirts
Makeup artist and nominee, Cassie Vanacek, wore this gown made of Peack embedded Tulle and Silk Sateen
Frank showing off a dinner jacket that I made from raw silk from the Common Thread and wooden buttons from TexStyles
Ansleye Connell Designer of Savannah Red in a bold gown of her own design.

The last month has been good crazy and bad crazy. My recovery from surgery had stalled somewhat so it was fortunate I didn't quite make the cut for the juried shows. I did recieve nice feedback from some of the people from Austin Fashion Week of my work.
Anyway I was still part of the Mash-Up team challenge where I was matched up with a photographer, jewelry designer and hair and make-up people to create a fashion shoot image. This is what we entered:

We called ourselves Team Komichiii-Japanese for "Feels So Good" with the gorgeous Jessica as our model
Tonight is the kickoff night with runway fashion by Betsy Johnson. All the Mash-up teams will also have their ensembles shown on the runway. It will be followed by a week or varied shows through the city and a great chance to mix and mingle with the other creative folk from the Austin area.
Anyway I've been busy making new merchandise for Ikkicon, especially for the guys. This include some ninja wear! And I am gotten been very inspired to make more cocktail and club dresses.

Hi everyone. I know it's been a long, long time since the last update. Sadly we just missed getting into A-kon. We were very disappointed since we were close. However it did turn into a mixed blessing in disguise. I've had corrective surgery on my foot this past spring and only last month stopped physical therapy. Working A-kon would been a challenge to say the elast.
Ushicon was incovenienced by a rare snowstorm on thursday night. The event still managed to be decent. We had several new pieces to display and had a couple of sales. Also the costuming paneled handled by Frank and our friend Brad from Outrageous Outfits went extremely well. We had a packed panel with a very responsive audience.
The current news is while I was recovering from my surgery, I was working on several designs that I hope to have my own show at Austin Fashion Week. I will be part of it but there's a competition to qualify for spotlight showings. The jurying for selection will occur in mid-july. I have several cocktail and evening dresses in the works. It's pretty competitive, so wish me luck.
The other ongoing news is Anime Overload. a couple weeks back they asked us to help them put on a fahsion show. The show occurred last night. Frank oversaw the event for me and it went off very well. The basic theme was Zombie styling with an ever increasing amount of undead.
The rest of the images are posted at here
Tomorrow we will be doing our costuming panel at the same con.

The Night of Seduction was a fun event. Club Madison is an excellent venue and we would recommended it whole-heartily. We posted pics of some fo the dresses I made for the event in Women's Clothing section
Our next venture will be a return to Ushicon in Roundrock, Texas. A nice little event where we will be selling some of our things and conducting our costuming panel. The subject of the panel is guidelines in making quality costumes at cost effective prices.
Our next goal is to try to get a table at A-kon, one of the biggest Anime events in the US. Wish us luck.

Well we had quite the last couple of weeks. The Night of Finesse did not turn out quite as well as we had hoped. However we are following it up another show at Madison Bar in Downtown Austin on Jan 14th. That should be a fun event.
Ikkicon went surprisingly well. We had only a few new items owing to our recent move to a new location. However we had a variety of nice pieces as well as unusal pieces go for sale. We also unveiled our first attempt at jewelry and sold a few of those
